Boxing Box — Last updated 3 September 2026
Boxing Box is an iPhone app for boxing training (bundle identifier lv.boxingbox.app). This page explains what happens to your information when you use it.
The short version: nothing you do in Boxing Box leaves your iPhone.
Boxing Box has no user accounts, no servers and no back end. The app never sends your information anywhere, because there is nowhere for it to send it to. Specifically:
This is why the App Store privacy label for Boxing Box says Data Not Collected.
So that the app remembers where you got to, it saves a small amount of information in its own private storage on your iPhone. This never leaves the device and is not readable by other apps.
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your fighter name | So the app can address you by name on the home screen |
| Your stance (which hand you write with) | So the app can say "your LEFT hand" instead of boxing jargon |
| Your level, XP and rank tier | To show your progress |
| Which training sessions you have finished | To unlock the next tier and to work out your daily streak |
| A record of each finished session (start time, end time, type, number of rounds) | To calculate XP and your streak |
| A random identifier generated on your phone | An internal key for the above; it is not linked to you, to your Apple ID or to any account |
Not stored: the birth year and the experience level you enter when you first open the app. Those two answers are used on the spot to decide the next screen and are then discarded — they are never written to storage and never transmitted.
To delete everything: delete the app. iOS removes the app's storage with it. There is no copy anywhere else, and nothing for us to delete on our side.
Boxing Box asks for your year of birth when you first open it and does not let you continue if you are under 13. The answer stays on your device. The app is not directed at children and is not part of Apple's Kids Category.
Some coaching lines are read aloud using the speech feature built into iOS. This is Apple's own on-device functionality; the app hands it a short sentence of English text such as the name of the current block. No audio is recorded, and the app never uses the microphone.
All other sounds — the bell, the ten-second warning and the tones that call each punch — are audio files bundled inside the app.
The six punch demonstration clips shown in the punch school come from a video published under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) licence by KettleWarrior. The clips are stored inside the app and play locally; they are not streamed, so viewing them sends no request to anyone. The credit is shown on screen underneath every clip.
If a future version of the app ever handles information differently, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the "last updated" date at the top will change. Any version of Boxing Box that collected data would say so in its App Store privacy label first.
